Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

CNN+

Who ever came up with CNN+ as a stand alone needs to be fired ASAP! It was never made clear how CNN+ was different from CNN. If anything I would have thrown it into HBO or HBOMAX as an add on like it does with its sports programming.

Who is running the place?

So much money down the drain on an already failing product. Explain to me how this was EVER going to get off the ground to generate interest much less revenue.

I think we've moved on from this already.

I would be interested in knowing how many of the failed efforts McKinsey was engaged in.

McKinsey said we'll gete 2 million subscribers for CNN+ by the end of the first year. McKinsey was also the big proponent of the project, they will not be the ones losing money.

Not much thought was put into it. Besides Discovery should have been the entity making the decision. I’m sure they have to pay out those contracts. Another waste of money while Stankey complains about wages. I’m sure the team that wasted millions come into work to six figure salaries and perks and go about their business on more “boneheaded” ideas to waste more money!!!

Here's the level of strategic thought that was likely put into that.

"Hey, we should have a streaming app for CNN".

That's it.
