Store level expectations

I have heard that stores are expected (or being asked) to increase sales by 10% and to come up with ideas of how to do that.
Anyone have suggestions?
I can't imagine textbooks, it is a difficulty to sell them at all, nevermind a 10% increase.

If increasing sales were that easy, I'd be manager at my store and the micromanaging bi--h TE would be at their regular store

GS Sales are one of my biggest frustrations.
We spent millions and millions on FOD, with the expectation they have a 24hr turnaround. Good luck if the poor quality sweatshirt arrives in less than a month, or at all.
Schools can go on site to multiple websites and get an instant quote and quick turnaround, how are we not able to even have a response??

We're not going to be able to make the sales in GM because they're working on the prices up. Customers complained before but not to this extent. Everybody wants a freaking discount. I don't get me started on online only cr-p. Product that takes a month to ship.

GM would be the only way to go, specifically guaranteed sales but no matter how hard you try it is useless. Taking weeks to get an answer for a quote, prices, ect...I have lost every sale in the past number of years because I don't get responses from the home office.

10% increase or what? What's the punishment?
Trade secret: if you're going to get laid off, it will happen regardless of a 10, 20 or 30% increase.

You'll never increase sales in textbooks unless you can get your campus on Access. If not, cross that off your idea list because it'll never happen.

Otherwise, it's all about GM. Guaranteed sales? Special events? Who knows. If it were that simple to just snap your fingers and... "poof! 10% increase!!" We'd all be doing it by now.
