The benefits of a great performance review

It used to be really important to me to have a great performance review. A lot of stress, a lot of effort went into it.. I did my best to make sure my performance review was as good as possible. But lately I’m thinking more and more about whether it’s worth trying so hard to have a good performance review here?

As the old saying goes, you can work twice as hard for 10% more or half as hard for 10% less.

Might depend on your manager. I have always had great performance reviews - no difference between when I stress and put in a lot of effort vs. when I have filled in the minimum just to get it done. None of that correlates to your paycheck anyways. No idea if anyone would ever look at your review and care what it says.
