I don't know what the official numbers are, but judging by my department attrition has never been this high. I can't see layoffs happening while that's the case. We need people to replace those who are gone, not to have more people kicked out. Job needs to be done, and any more cuts would make that impossible. That's why I stopped worrying about layoffs, at least for now.

This company has no idea how to centralize so don’t worry. Every time they attempt to centralize they create more processes and more redundancy. Asking micromanagers to centralize efforts is a useless endeavor. JR I’m talking to you son, your clueless!
Corporationism, this abomination of a system requires lay-offs as long as it results in a penny stock price rise
Naive
The game of replacing expensive headcount with cheaper headcount is over. People are negotiating more than ever and will walk away if presented with an offer that is below market …
Just because there is high turnover doesnt mean it is the right turnover.
I have been wondering how work forward is going to change RIFS. The “centralize then decentralize” cycle isnt as easy with hybrid/wfh unless they are going to add that as another layer.
It's simple really. Replace expensive headcount with cheaper headcount.
Your first mistake was thinking logically about this. But the stock is down and they have to do something to make it look like they are doing something.
Just because ur department is under staffed. Doesn’t mean that the over 100,000 other employees aren’t in a department with a surplus.
