Why are we closing an hour later on holidays now? They pay more in operations and employee pay than what will be made by sales. Some of these summer holidays we shouldn’t even be open.

Well the July 4th holiday is quickly approaching and VZW has decided to be open 9 to 5 on that day. Out off the 3 summer holdays( Memorial, Labor and Independence days) ,the 4th has the least volume.So to be open till 5pm especially if it's a nice day tells you VZW should not be in the retail business and they're just mimicking the resellers hours who couldn't care less.
I left VZW when I go into the store now I say no I don't want the CC no I don't want VZ protect or whatever yall have now. I just need this and that all.

Just wondering what position do you hold in this company? Are you a DM bud? I ask cause you evidently are paid adequately enough to make that pi-s on statement. The rest of us complain because even when a leadership position does open, it's given usually to another store SM who wants to relocate and about 60 reps from all area stores apply and interview. Those spots are locked in because we are paid so sh---y now that it now management positions outpay the top earning reps. The raises are all the same for all reps and it doesn't even match inflation. For the good of the company? Ha! We made huge profits for Q1 but leadership refuses to reward us for selling so much over priced product by fighting with customers not to buy at Amazon for 1/4 of our bundle discounted price. Fill the fridge? How about fill my paycheck or gas tank...
Vz would rather be sued by their own store managers than pay them fairly for overtime. But then they want to make it sound like retail doesn't want to work hard.
I don't think there is any one in here who feels incentivized enough to want to move up in this company?

Yeah very odd. Past couple weeks my DM has been coming down on me/us so hard over numbers. Crazy unrealistic. I'm thinking in my head, "what does he/she want, this rep worked at Walmart before here" something is going on on the back end and it's a bubble that's gonna pop. Insurance goal is now 55% (makes sense as it barely pays bucket money) however the DM is acting like it's 100%. I suppose since our quota went up 40% MoM the theirs must be wholly unattainable. Compensate us properly. Also I agree as the others, send us gas cards haha.
I do agree. VZ can't have it both ways. They can't pay like Apple , Best Buy, team commissions, or traditional retail but expect individual contribution results. I doubt Apple reps are making cold calls at this level. There is an element in cellular that is different from traditional retail. Tmo still has individual commissions and all the agents.
Funny thing is smb will continue to decline because reps know the juice ain't worth the squeeze.

The hours are longer because the upper leadership is desperate. They see a slight decline in FWA and SMB and now we are making double the cold calls. I overheard my DM talking to another stores SM in the middle of cold calling and he's cursing the manager out over a sale his rep set up and might have possibly not got the one talk, 10 seconds later you can hear the manager go "didn't you hear me, we got the one talk" and his demeanor never changed he just said oh good good. Upper management wants more more more but refuses to pay more more more for the extra they are asking. Pretty soon employees will start leaving in droves because "recognition" doesn't pay the bills. This company and its political bu-----t leach of a leadership crew need to quit being stingy and greedy and actually pay the people on the front line to perform, not demand them to slave for crumbs.
Complain about not having enough money but complain about extra hours . Retail SMH.

Dude we are bleeding out over here. Inflation is kicking the bu-t of the front line. Send us gas cards or send everyone some award perQs to get groceries. I'm not even that bad off so I could only imagine for others. Doesn't help they cut our pay and commissions and only gave use measly 4% raises if you were lucky.
They are desperate for profit. Our ceo gets to eat expensive steaks on a yacht while we can only afford the drive-thru dollar menu
