Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

What is going on in WD&C?

This group has seen their highs and lows over the years but even prior to Covid to today this team appears very toxic. The amount of reorganization/restructure/leaves/returns in the last year appears to have taken its toll on the team on the front lines.

The neighborhood teams across campus are really good. The next level directors have a lot to be desired then the Senior Director of the team is a terrible toxic example with behaviors contrary to Nike values.

Rollout for RTW was bumpy but communication to the buildings was pretty good - the front line teams (I wish I could name their names here) are very available (I wouldn’t be that available) but they show up day after day to help us get situated after working remotely for over 2 years.

There are great people in this group but I think the internal strife within this group could prove damaging beyond repair. In a nutshell their leadership sucks.

I hope the ELT sees the toxic environment these employees are going through.

Good luck WDC friends. You will need it in the coming year.

wdnc is a joke. real estate people who are drunk on power for running basic facilities maintanence, even the etws from jll and cbre talk to black badges like they are better than them. the little bit of info they have on new offices, they keep to themselves and refuse to collaborate with cross functional teams. extremely toxic. they keep their jobs by moving furniture around once every couple of years, move different teams into the same building, how this is the biggest waste of money is beyond me but hey jd pays millions to be told by 23-year old ivy league grads at management consulting firms on what to do

I can confirm the Sr Directors in this group have that magical combination of being both incompetent and toxic while the VP just seems interested in marking time and chasing T&A…

Corporate Real Estate & Facilites is not rocket science. If Nike would pay market comp they could hire people with the skills & experice to run WHQ. Nike is getting what it is willing to paying for.
