Weeks after the promise of not lying off employees, PayPal has lid off several employees from the Chandler office in Arizona. Based on employees I’ve spoken too, the employees being let go are primarily people of color and LGBTQ+ individual but has not been confirmed. No answers about the demographics were given by HR.

Honestly the d-mbest response I've seen so far...
One thing paypal has never been is homophobic. They were at the forefront providing benefits to same s-x couples when they didn’t have to. They are very LGBTQ+ friendly. I don’t believe this at all.
When I was let go in 2019 I was actually given demographic histograms about the layoffs (interestingly without indicating volume). The point was to show lack of bias and broad impact throughout the ranks, likely to pre-empt various lawsuits, but perhaps for transparency. Is such data being shared this time around? I didn't get this data until I received my severance package, so it might be 'in-the-mail'.
It sounds like maybe you only socialize with people of color and LGBTQ+ based off your inaccurate blanket statement.
You couldn't be any more wrong. It's a shame you would try to turn this unfortunate situation it to something it's not. People lost their careers and livelihoods today and you're trying to troll their situation.

we all know this is not true
I can’t speak for other departments but you’re absolutely right concerning a few departments. 2 particular departments that I know of personally each person let go in those departments were either a minority or a member of the LGBTQ+ community. So you’re not reaching & you’re not completely wrong.
I don’t fit that demographic either. Sounds like you are on a witch hunt for a little something something more… good luck LOL
while it may be a goal of PP to appear ho--y for equality above and beyond other companies, this did not play in to their layoff decisions. this is 100% about the stock price and recession. gotta move jobs out of the country and lay off expensive american workers with their pesky insurance needs
I can assure you that was not the case as I don’t fit into any of that demographic.
