makes me think smb is next. inside sales is already gaining traction on their accounts and retail takes credit for all sales done out of their doors- quotas went up and they’ve been hung out to dry
I was only in the VBG SLED for 2 years, but during that time, I saw the slow transition to 3rd party order support, moving 25% of your accounts to inside sales, reductions and changes in comp. to make it more difficult quarter by quarter to make money...and the list goes on and on. Every "enhancement" was at VZ's benefit...never the front line.
"5G" was/is a joke. As the C-band was launched, maps weren't updated, and we were definitely not informed of where the service had launched.
I left 4 months ago...went on an LOA and never came back. It's all broken and highly toxic. So many stupid decisions/acquisitions were the undoing of the company.
If you haven't gotten out, make plans to get out...fast.
And whoever said Paty Roze was the undoing of public sector...was dead on. Fake.

Make sense why they have been hammering retail with SMB target and goals.
Most business that comes out of the stores is slammed. Once we find out you have a business it's like consumer doesn't exist. Basically it's grandma has a pottery hobby that happens to be a sol prop with her social. Make it a business account and slam some low cost commissionable features and have a nice day. If everything goes ok from the terrible systems, outsourced support, confusing plans promotions and the like just thank the Big Hans that it's out of your hands now.
Best of luck to the customer after they walk out those doors. If you thought doing business with big red was difficult, well now you have a business account. Enjoy the 100% over seas phone support, horrible online and app experience, x1000 times more

account executives let go and replaced by inside sales - vbg next. if you’re an account executive/ business manager etc keep low to the ground, inside sales is the future of the company no more in person
