About 10 years ago they did a mass layoff. The email that went out literally said, "We invite you to seek success elsewhere".

Yeah, the code review team being laid off all at once was a surprise. I thought they would cut that team down a little at a time, but not all at once.
For anyone else in the security organization, polish your resume because they are going automation and India and you'll be next, no joke.
Sorry for your loss, yes cost reductions through cover most of the function through automation or off shoring. It is an industry thing for specific areas it made sense.
Entire Secure Code Review team laid off today so stop with the "fake news" cr-p.
