I have a friend that her firm does employment law. Will ask her if they want to sue for all years of abuse - it would be a class action home run.

Deposing abused employees & affidavits are proof.
Very difficult to prove after the fact, unless you have recordings.
Laws are made to protect people.
If someone breaks the law against another, there will always be litigation.
Sometimes the damages too severe to turn a blind eye. If someone steals credit for someone else’s work & gets a promotion or bonus then. Legal action is needed. Seems to be a lot of that at O.
If someone commits fraud or some other criminal act some might feel they have a moral obligation to take action.
It happens every day.
It's simply easier for people to get out of abusive situations.
