Was expecting to see my vacation payout on my last check. However, to my surprise, those hours were not paid. Any clue as to why this would happen?

Final vacation pay takes longer than expected. Same thing happened to me, I inquired… got the runaround, then they owned up to it and I got my check. Then the next pay period they paid it again. Ooops, thanks for the tip I guess.
They actually gave me my vacation payout twice…oopsie 😂. Of course if they try to fight me on it, I’ll let them take me to court with everything I know.
Just wait until they lay you off and then contest your unemployment!! If that's not F'ed up, I don't know what is.
It's disappointing if you're not getting a nice bonus, but, it's exactly that. A bonus. You're still getting your regular salary. That's always been the case, COVID or not.
Bonus payout is a joke. Still dealing with Covid to start of the FY, schools with remote learning ki--s sales. Of course revenue wouldn’t be up to snuff. Why punish all of us who’ve kept the company running?
Depending on when you left, or were let go, if after April 1 you would have only earned a day or 2, not the 2 weeks they show on there site that they load upfront, you still have to accrue.
…and the band played on.
Follett, the epitome of common sense. Ask TL out previous Fearless Leader!
What baffles me, is why you would post this on a layoff forum? It's probably best that you don't work at Follett anymore, as it looks like you don't have any common sense. Take your issues to HR.
This link will take you to a matrix of states and their PTO/Vacation laws. https://www.helpside.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Vacation-Pay-By-State-Helpside.pdf
Look up your state. If you're in Illinois or California, follett cannot fail to pay accrued vacation upon termination. If you're in one of those states, look up the state's labor agency.
If they are vacation hours available but not yet earned, they are not paid out. I believe in April, everyone was advanced hours so that balances do not go in the negative if you need vacation days before the hours accrue.
My vacation payout was issued on a separate check the following week.
From what I understand, they are supposed to pay but they will try get away with not paying. Most people don't know that it is supposed to be paid out so they never say anything and companies get away with not paying. I would try saying something to HR because I think if you do, then they have to pay. It might depend on which state you live in too.
I have had trouble getting a timely response from HR if I get a response at all so that might be why someone would ask on here instead of HR.
Why not call HR and ask instead of posting on here?
What state do you live in?
I’m guessing you work in a state that’s not mandatory vacation payout
