Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Does anyone actually like their job?

Do people on this board actually like their job (albeit, we all have things we don’t like I.e returning to the office in my case). Or is everyone just plain miserable?

It means different things when someone who is miserable posts and comments vs someone who likes their job and wants to improve whatever is bothering them.

Does anyone actually like working at Nike in general?

As a 18 y FTE I used to have pride and passion in my job. But HRER continued incompetence and inaction obliterated that. It’s now a paycheck and l don’t go beyond my job

I like my job and feel like I work alongside caring and mostly experienced people. My biggest hang up lately is that I lost a mentor (but am so happy for her!) , and my new manager has significantly fewer years of experience than her reports. My work is fun, there are areas where I’m making an impact and no one is texting me about an email at 830p.

I love my job, and my coworkers. The problem is that my boss won't GTF out of the way and let me actually do my job effectively, so it's a nightmare. It'll be bittersweet when I leave in June, but mostly sweet.

I love my job and my coworkers. I don’t love how inefficient and political getting things done is.

The folks I work with sure don't. It's been a long downhill slide. I never heard so much shirt talked about an employer. People used to feel there was at least a team to be proud of. Now it's become embarrassing to associate with the brand locally. Everybody knows Nike has the B team on the field. I am used to be on the A-team. My friends and acquaintances don't hold it against me as much as my family does. I think that's mostly because most I knew at the brand are laid off or long gone for greener pastures.

ymmv obviously but in my case i feel i've maxed out my professional growth and simply there is nothing interesting to do in my team where i'm learning new things. also a lot of the work is bu-----t busywork, like producing reports for mid-level managers that they don't even use or look at. so i've ended up focusing my energy on doing at most 2-3 hours of actual work on average a day and that work is actually useful for my coworkers and for production. while we were remote that meant that I could do a ton of non-work stuff during the rest of the time and take care of other important things in my life. now that we are no longer remote that's really limiting my ability to do that and that combined with the bu-----t and lack of opportunity for growth within this particular team means im not happy. the pay is good though but from what i can tell other companies are offering even more money so im shooting resumes and interviewing for remote positions, what can i say
