Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

"Four week flex" = Chaos & disrespect

The "Four Week Flex" program for those ordered to return to the office is nothing but chaos in the making. So now, we are all going to be WFH random weeks of the year. Coordinating in-person and remote meetings, workshops, etc just got harder.

Just let us choose when and how we work remote! Trust us. You did for the past two years, right? The M M email is just insulting. Basically: "We heard you are still unhappy with the remote/not remote plan, so here's a bone. More flexibility, see!!! Aren't we great?"

No. It's d-mb. Give it up and let everyone cone in when and how they want. I like going in and have been going in 1-2 days a week for months. I want to keep it that way.

Thank god I’m leaving this company in two weeks. Have fun being treated like children.

Honestly feel bad for the people having to come up with these ideas to appease the higher ups who are insistent on this agenda

It seems super strange but I’ll take it. They are trying everything to make people happy without going full remote. With all of these “perks” announced, I have a sneaking suspicion (and source) that raises and/or PSP are not going to be close to what people are hoping for.

I can only imagine this is in response to the all employee survey. Yah. Do better. MM.

Well, my d-mb manager is actually choosing the weeks we can flex as a team taking away our individual right to select the weeks that suit us best! This is a circus.

As long as my work gets done and I meet or exceed my performance targets why does Nike care when and from where it gets done? Why does Nike insist that I work in a specific environment where I KNOW I am much less productive? And why do the people who insist that I work in an unproductive open office environment not avail themselves of the same “opportunity”? Is that because they know it would be impossible for them to get any work done if they were subjected to the exact same environment they want ME to work in?

It’s just more duplicity, hypocrisy and double-standards from Nike’s sorry excuse for “leaders”.

Hey Nike, the best way for you to “lead” me is to get the helle out of my way and let me and my manager decide when and where I should work. You add zero value to this equation. No, it’s worse…you actively stand in the way of the people who do add value. It’s funny that Nike trusts me to handle a seven-figure budget but doesn’t trust that I know when and how I do my best work. Try and figure that one out.

I’m getting really antsy to move on from this place. Leadership is tone-deaf six ways from Sunday and having to deal with their out of touch decisions is exhausting.

As a manager, I don’t see how it’s possible to monitor this… nor do I even want to.

To me, if means the option of working from home more that the 3/2 flex plan "at your manager's discretion" has been stomped dead. You can now fully work from home for a maximum of four weeks in a year, else you need to discuss taking it as PTO or a leave of absence.
