At my age, it’s hard to start from scratch and that’s why I hesitate to quit. On the other hand, I personally haven't heard that anyone regretted leaving.

I left several months back and I am a lot happier.
We had a coffee bar within 2 minutes of my desk, I miss that a bit.
I was absolutely terrified when I left my first employer, bp. I really thought bp was one of the few places that combined a nice culture, work life balance and good pay. How wrong I was! My first job after bp I didn't enjoy as much. Once you leave bp, you realize leaving a job is no big deal, and nobody really cares. And then I found my current job, which is absolutely delightful. Even after many months, I can't believe how non-stressful it is at a great level of pay. Everyone is pulling in the same direction and the work is challenging, without being too much for me. No regrets!
There are plenty of opportunities out there and BP has vastly overstated their worth as an employer when it comes to culture, pay and benefits.
They have forced thousands of people out the door over last few years and everyone I know has landed on their feet in a better position. Just do a search on LinkedIn with BP as a past employer and it will give you an idea of where people have been going. Lots of folks have jumped to tech, but plenty have just moved to companies that still consider O&G to be their core business.
