Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Healthy company? 4-5% open reqs

You tell me, the company is not growing organically. Right?

Yet, the company has over 2000 open reqs! By my calculation the company has 4 to 5 percent of its positions open.

Some teams with open reqs are being told positions can not be filled.

Experienced resources are fleeing and going to competitors.

You tell me, are these characteristic of a healthy, vibrant, industry leading, best fintech on the planet?

Account Processing has so many hiring freezes it would be easier to track when they are allowed to hire employees.

Heard there was a hiring freeze right now in Account Processing…which is somewhat surprising considering how many are leaving this year by choice or by not relocating. Anybody got details on that?

900 of the 2000 are Berkeley Heights openings which are replacements for those not relocating.

Lets start with 1800 reqs to be filled, because that accounts for the natural occurrence of positions being open.

Estimated 8 openings filled a month

Estimated 50 recruiters

Assuming attrition does not change, by my calc it would take 4.5 months to fill 1800 reqs.

It sure helps explain why someone posted recently that reducing attrition has been pushed down in the goals.

That said, if our leadership really was as sharp as some claim, he would know that leadership starts at the top -- most associates do not have compliants with their direct manager.

Here is something I found thanks to Google:

National averages across all industries and employer sizes tend to fluctuate between 30 to 40 open requisitions per recruiter at any one time, according to the Society for Human Resource Management's (SHRM's) HR Knowledge Center. The median tends to fluctuate between 15 to 20 open requisitions per recruiter.

And,

On average, recruiter should be able to fill/hire around four positions per month with an average level of difficulty, or around 50 per year. An exceptional recruiter, or one working on mostly entry level positions, should be able to fill 60-80 per year.

Perhaps someone with more math accumen could share how long it will take Fiserv to fill the open reqs.

I wonder how many recruiters Fiserv has.
