PULSE

Am I safe if I open up in the PULSE survey? Can my manager retaliate?

Be honest if you want. The last 2 surveys one of my coworkers was. Called out -=BY NAME=-. Somebody sees it all.

The survey IS the company image. They only do them to show "how great" we are. Agree with people earlier - they know if you did or didnt survey. However it clearly says in case of allegations of illegal or non credo activity, they may reach out to you. Who can see that is not clear to the field. That said, I always use the verbatims to point out weaknesses, especially in our systems. Voice of the Employee is pretty good to suggest changes and seems to have traction. Keep trying to push change - there are too many id--ts in leadership out for themselves.

I got a big banner on my garage location telling everyone to do the pulse survay. It hung rite next to the sign with the old Verizon from 20 years ago. Survey is more important than company image.

As an SM, I can assure you that anybody that has direct reports can see EVERYTHING pertaining to their surveys. I can see whose survey it is. How many times they started and abandoned without finishing. I can see what was on each abandoned and finished attempt. I can see when each attempt was made. I can see how long each attempt took. I can see where they were when each attempt was made. If the computer has a camera, I even get a snapshot taken at the beginning of each attempt (you'd be surprised by how revealing and useful that is).

We keep all this data on hand and we reference it WHENEVER we think it might be helpful.

When it's time for my survey, I think long and hard about what I'm going to say before I go in. I am careful of my location and surroundings. I will only make one attempt, and I will finish on that attempt.

If I have a grievance that I'd like addressed, I schedule a meeting with my leader, and present it, along with a reasonable, workable solution to him/her. If it is not something they can address, they will escalate, or we will schedule skip levels until we get the right person.

The the last thing the PULSE survey is for is addressing issues you have.

if you don't want to submit your feedback thru the Pulse Survey but you have good feedback or complaint about your managers then call his number =)

844-894-8433 Verizon Compliance and 100% Anonymous!!

That call will go all the way to Verizon HQ HR Department and trust me, TM, DM, GM, and your Local HR rep will hate to get this in their email. HQHR doesn't mess with those calls once they get one or many trust me changes will happen instantly.

We have done and when I tell you HQ goes to the bottom, heads start to roll, and changes for a better place start to happen.

Call them and trust me they won't ask for your name but will make your HR truly do their job correctly.

As a former manager, we were able to see who did a survey and who didn't. Could not see what each rep said at the local level. I think VP and up are able to drill down to rep to survey.

Go ahead be honest. Managers don't know who wrote a survey, but they can guess. If you want to remain anonymous you should make sure your verbatim is generalized and has no "I did" or similar language that can be used by your manager to make guessing that much easier.
If your feedback is about your manager and it's just you having an issue with them, then surveys being anonymous isn't going to hide that it's you. I'd go ahead and put whatever in a survey, but I also don't fear retaliation from my manager. If you do and you think your manager woukd be able to decently guess that it's your feedback, a better course of action may be to schedule a skip level meeting and talk to whoever their manager is about your concerns. If you're not comfortable with that, go hogher or go to HR.
Good luck.

Your manager absolutely knows who submits each survey.

Yeah, I'm always honest on the surveys. Just take care not to provide details which might be ultra-specific to your exact situation if you're trying to stay anonymous. But sure, keep it professional but say what you like, otherwise.

I open up every single time. Managers can't see which rep says what, it is truly anonymous. I've torched those surveys and am brutally honest. Verizon did say, they listened and this is how we go our new comp plan. (Even though that's an excuse to pay us less)
