Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

The healthiest departments here?

There are people that do not last even two months here. However there are also those who've been working here for 15-20 years.
This means that some here are extremely dissatisfied, while others are quite comfortable. I guess what matters the most is which department the person is working in.

They typically fall into one of three buckets:

  • Too lazy to move
  • Too stupid to care
  • Unemployable anywhere else

I’m also glad that it did not go into a Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin argument!

The whole place is sick. The longer you stay, the more it drags you down and the harder it is to leave.

Someone only lasted 2 months? I’d like to hear that story. Sounds like they made the right decision quickly. Wish I’d have done that.

I stayed for 15 years and I was miserable, worked for some of the d-mbest and laziest people I’ve ever met and I made sure gave 1% every day, slept in the last 7 years, stopped replying to customer emails, didn’t update anything cause nobody reviewed the stuff my Botox’s VP said would be reviewed. Oh yeah. I stopped turning on my phone. At times in last decade I just sat on my computer and researched stocks. It worked out pretty well. Made a million in 12 years. Oracle is a dump.

Your initial assumption misses the mark!

Do not equate length of service with comfort and satisfaction. The ones who have been here over 10 years remember what this company was, and know what it should be.
