Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Humana needs to focus on its employees for once

Before we all decide to go hunting for greener pastures. I used to love my job but they put me in a position where I now dread it. I'm constantly worried about layoffs and their talk about another restructuring or whatever it is this time is only making things worse. Will we ever be important enough to come first or are we just cost-cutting fodder for them?

I opted out on the last RIF in Dec 2021. After 10 years..Best decision I made. Used to love my position but the previous 2 years the job went to he-l with quanity over quality.

Original poster. Humana do focus on employees, always have. They are fully aware that cutting the workforce helps pay out the greedy stockholders.

Original poster, you took the words right out of my mouth. My thoughts too. Because leadership has misjudged, misdirected, and misused its resources, us included, we are on the chopping block again. I honestly didn’t think my morale could go any lower, but it has. Expectations are higher than ever, they’re still changing and adding things every day because they don’t know what they are doing, the stress is awful. Add me to this list of those who pray for severance. I never thought I’d say that, but I’m really just done.

Humana’s number 1 focus has always been and will always be making money. If your program/department (that was once their next new idea, direction, mission, etc) is no longer profitable then you are gone. The new focus for all of the Medicare/Medicaid managed care organizations is SDOH and addressing those needs, along with physical health, in the community/primary care setting using the value based contract model. Telephonic care management doesn’t fit into this new initiative.

We are not important to Humana. Hang in there long enough to get your severance and move on. We have a lot to offer a company don’t get discouraged.
