Along with the rumor about the big changes coming, I have also heard the rumor that the severance pay for wireline teams will be miserable. Take this with a grain of salt, it's just a rumor, but I wonder how much truth there is in that?

Don’t forget cobra. This is the only reason for me to wait for layoff.
Silly comment "There is a reason legacy Magenta has a low amount of tenured employees." That's because it's a growing company that hasn't been around until 2001 when DT bought Voicestream and Powertel. Lots of people have retired that were there in the beginning. Mergers have consequences as does company performance.
There is a reason legacy Magenta has a low amount of tenured employees.
With these severance packages you would be better off looking for a new job now. No reason to stay with rumors swirling of big layoffs just to get 5 weeks pay for 25 years of service.
The latest policy is two weeks for every year capping at 10 weeks. This is only for employees who have been with the legacy company for more than three years so merger employees are screwed.
This is being reevaluated based on financial considerations and may drop to one week per year capping at 5 weeks pay.
At one time Legacy Sprint gave employees 1 month plus two weeks per year of service up to one year. Later, that was dropped to 1 month with one week per year of service. Wonderful TMo only gives two weeks for 3 years and under and one week per year of service up to 3 months total.
That actually doesn't make sense that packages would be different by organization vs one corporate policy. Are you pretend rumor fishing?
