I recently started in Jan 2022 as a Client Care Specialist in Home Lending and we are extremely slow with little work coming in. Makes me wonder when the layoffs will be coming

As most of the other commenters said, how could they possibly lay-off when people are quitting left and right. My department seems to constantly be hiring because people keep transferring out.

Layoff may not be as frequent recently as many have quit left and right so if they lay people off while still understaffed, they are d-mber then I thought. But well, higher ups are the one doing the layoff but lower employees are the one taking the bullets by taking over more responsibilities and being overwhelmed so they don’t care.

Well there were promotions recently in NY area and there were layoffs of lesser title employees as usual for any Wall St firm, but I would check if you had any promotions recently and see if they are laying off "dead weight" but no, they have been hiring more so I dont think they are since people have also been quitting
