Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Remember when Nike was on the offense always?

Now they are suing everyone. Doesn’t feel like offense to me. Where is the innovation? Suing StockX for selling make believe shoes in a make believe world. Suing Lulu for a… mirror, suing former employees. Yet,
not one article about any new innovation (and no, acquiring an NFT company is not innovative) if Nike was innovating they would have used the massive amount if talent that exist(ed) in their footwear design and dev teams to create their own, its not hard.

In fact, if you’re a designer or footwear developer you should start your own collection sans the swoosh. You’ll probably make more than you’ll ever make at Nike.

There is little to no point of seeking patents and trademarks if you're not going to protect them.
Nike should not allow any other entity to make money off of Nike's work.
It's that simple. It's the corporation's obligation to the shareholders and employees.

I would have to disagree and say that they are still, very much, offensive. Probably even more so of late, with the cliques that have formed and the many callously ditched old timers. It's more who you know than what you know here.

During the summer games I watched all the best Female Athlete stories told by the competition….most were former Nike athletes. Winter Olympics…I don’t see anything from Nike except for the apparel kits. The reality is Nike is not about sport innovation anymore or the athletes whose stories are now being told by other brands. No more brand marketing, story telling, goose bumps, irreverence, aspiration or innovation.

Like it or not protecting your valuable intellectual property is very much “playing offense”. It isn’t pretty but it is ruthlessly effective.
