The Great Resignation is not slowing down. Many of the companies believe those fake polls that claim most of those who had quit regret doing it when it's simply not true. People are not afraid to leave their jobs and the push back to the office is just going to increase the number of those who are going to opt to leave. I can't wait for March numbers. I wish we could get a specific one for WFC.

@1ojl, I've been through PLENTY of "layoffs" (layoff kinda implies they'll bring you back eventually) and it was NEVER based on seniority. I even worked for Eastman Kodak for over a decade where we were continually firing people.

Keep in mind, as you leave your current job for a new job as we enter a HUGE recession, you are the last one on the totem pole. Guess who gets laid off first?
With the elimination of small business, where are you going to find work?
As a person getting close to retirement, I've been there through multiple government administrations that have policies that force US into recessions and watched great people suffer from extended periods of job loss.

Funny that people think the execs are concerned about a blip in turnover, even in a big blip. Yeah, in some ways it's costs money...but it also means less $ spent on benes, less PTO, less vesting in 401k plans etc. For some roles it's an exchange they are willing to make, especially since they believe that ANYONE that has been with the company longer than Charlie is tainted / damaged goods.
Changing jobs or quitting and not coming back? I think this time has accelerated retirements, but people will still need to work

The people who regret quitting for another job basically were chasing $$ and are unsatisfied with the actual work they’re being paid for.
This is no different than any other time when people think money alone is worth switching jobs/companies for. There’s also no proof they’d be any happier continuing to do the jobs they quit.
The sensationalized headline of The Great Resignation has more nuance when you look at all the facts but the bottom line is that workers were so miserable they were driven to quit and they’re still miserable. Corporate America wins again, even if they had to pay a little more to do it.
The I’ll-conceived forced RTO plan will absolutely decimate this company far more than any prior scandal.
