Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Going from a hub to WFH location.

Has anyway in a hub location asked about going to a none hub location to be full WFH? With SF hiring from the LOC locations again, how hard would it be to go to that location ?

Haha.Tied to those occupants willing to pay…..you didn’t really suggest names on buildings indicate ownership? No one is that d-mb.

Isn’t the ability to advertise on a building more tied to occupancy?

@4elm- to further illustrate your and others ignorant comments that show up regularly- SF only owns buildings in Bloomington. Also, there are NO tax breaks based on occupancy. Ge-z this site attracts id--ts like honey attracts ants.

LOC no longer exist, its just people who live outside of HUB range and HUB people now. You have to ask permission and then your parental boss TM will let you know if its ok with the company for you to move, which is just absolutely ridiculous of a scenario for anyone over the age of 18.

They know single digit % of employees actually want to return to work, and they have building they are still paying for, that i think need a minimum occupancy of employees to get tax breaks or something like that....so we have to go into the office and they really...REALLY...do not want people working from home who could drive in.

It really punishes those people who uprooted their lives and moved when SF was shuttering its LOC locations with reckless abandon, as had I not chosen to move to a hub I wouldnt need to worry about driving into work, or where i lived in the country. Having that kind of freedom these days, especially with rising costs would have been nice. But I chose to follow the job and now I'm locked into a situation where I have to ask a corporation to move.

Youll find State Farm to be incredibly inflexible, for a company that asks for Gumby like flexibility from everyone else.

I know someone that moved from a hub to state where there wasn’t even an LOC. it’s possible. You just have to get it approved.

The LOC’s were sold-no return possible.

Tennessee, Ohio and Colorado are all hiring for WFH claims jobs, why even close the LOCs? Who is running this ship in claims.

asking here isn't going to get you anything but lunatic rambling responses. make the request through your management. executive must approve. all you can do is ask.

LOL, @1eib missed the facts around record growth. And the fact miles driven now exceed pre-pandemic levels or catastrophes are running much higher than historical averages. Speaks volumes about his lack of knowledge and his immaturity shines right through too.

I thought you were complaining they never hired anyone? Now that they are hiring record numbers that is a problem? Looks like YOU are the problem.

We have hired 4000 people the first quarter and targeted to hire another 4000-5000+ people this year. Almost 10K people in 1 year! It will be the most ever hired in 1 year at State Farm. Let that sink in....that is a 20% increase in the work force. That shows you how much you have been getting bent over by State Farm. They are not going to let you go from a hub location to a none hub location. They have to keep you a slave to the machine in the hubs! Can't have you getting too comfortable in an affordable location, with no traffic, and higher standard of living now can they? Thats Tipsy's hands you feel on your shoulders!
