To all the managers with wisdom out there. Please share with this layoff community forum what is Wells Fargo’s definition of a layoff?
Please try to expand on the following points if possible:
- What are some indications a person is now on a layoff list for the future ?
- Do you hire cheaper replacements or consultants?
- Is offshore leveraged and used in the equation to lay off someone?
- Are you asked to lay off a certain percentage of your team and then you have to make a hard choice of picking someone?
- If yes, how do you choose someone and on what criteria (i.e. skill set, friendliness, seniority, etc.) ?
- Are you allowed to give some subliminal warning to the employee if you are going to lay them off in order to help them cope?
- Are you asked or influenced to try to “manage out” that person first, maybe start recording their faults and mistakes and no longer overlook them, so as not to lay them off and save money?
Any information or wisdom you can offer is greatly appreciated.
I’m worried that i’m being pushed out. I don’t want to leave at all. I actually love working here and i get the chance to work with super intelligent humans but i’m a strange weird dude that loves people and my job. Not sure if Wells Fargo or my manager/LOB see that. But i just wanted to see if my hunch is right and what to look out for.
