They're quick to get rid of employees for even the smallest mistake, but those same rules don't apply to everybody in the company. There is no accountability when it comes to all levels of management. They keep screwing up and instead of being punished for it, they get rewarded with pay increases and bonuses. How is that fair?

"If you make a mistake I wont fire you, if I fired you I couldn't make you suffer" - Guy, from a meeting with the entire Platform team in FTS.
He might have been trying to make a joke but it didn't some a brown nose VP from sending it out as an inspiration quote later that day.
Actually the First Data motto was “there’s no penalty for failure.” People didn’t get fired for their mistakes because managers were unable to backfill. They’d rather have a body; even one that isn’t up to par. First Data only got rid of you if Frank asked for his annual offering of 5% or for some HR issue.
It is not fair at all, but that is how the good old boys do it at First data.
