Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

No right formula to keep the job

Not everyone hates their job. There are also those who, despite everything, love their job and want to keep it as long as possible. Just, how do you keep a job at Humana? I know a lot of those who worked to exhaustion and still they weren’t good enough to stay here. That is why I am anxious, because I don't know what to do in order to keep my job. If hard work was the way to keep a job, I wouldn’t worry at all.

Sometimes a PITA is required to slap middle management and senior management upside the head. They get lost in the committee correctness meetings.

To be honest, no one at Humana is immune from a RIF. If management decides a particular position or line of business isn’t needed anymore, you could be laid off. They’re agnostic as to person when it comes to a RIF.

The best insurance for any of us is to keep upskilling, do our best work and be helpful to others. Seriously. Better performers hang around longer. People other people like hang around longer. And people with more skills are easier to redeploy in another area if a department or line of business gets cut.

Do your best at work. The rest will shake out however it will.

OP hangin there. We all are tired of constant layoffs. Don’t stop trying outside, sometimes best opportunities are waiting for you unless you give them attention. If your hardwork and dedication is not valued then time to think what’s most valued for me?

Someone at Humana is so happy and self motivated, that he is trying to motivate all of us here. I am wondering is it BB doing in his free time? Lol

You might want to reconsider your dedication to a job that has laid off people who worked to the point of exhaustion and weren't considered Good Enough.
That said, it is people that play the game, mouthing the same BS as higher ups and complying with all corporate Good Ideas that win in the business world. Keep your mouth shut, parrot corporate directives and act like they are brilliant ideas and strategies. Dont be a PITA and rock the boat.
Try to remember there are other jobs out there that you would enjoy too. Maybe more.
