Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Stop

Stop complaining about how horrible things are, how your job has changed, how much you don’t like your raise or your bonus. Stop complaining that you’re going to wait for severance with a possible RIF because it is so horrible….you can leave, find another job….has the job changed ? Yes. At least you have a job, you got a raise, you got a bonus. When did we become such entitled whiners? Get a grip, folks. If you dont like your boss, your team, the role, the company, find something you would like better and get that job, rather than staying somewhere that makes you miserable! You deserve better. If you’re so unhappy then stop bi-----g and do something about it! It’s a job, not your life. Send your resume out, make a plan, but stop hitting yourself on the head and then complaining you have a headache! Stop the incessant complaining and whining about how terrible it is and empower yourself to be the change you want to see in the world. Be a role model for those around you to be part of a solution, not a problem. Stop complaining and get off the pity pot! My goodness. You get a paycheck, you have a job. Even if it wasn’t much and was taxed per federal guidelines, you got a bonus and a raise. Your greed is getting the better of you..,you’re angry that you were taxed a certain amount for the bonus you got? Humana is a business and run as a business….it is not health care like a hospital, and has different rules and regulations. On a PIP? Resolve the situation or go. Don’t like your boss? Try to resolve it or go. Feel micromanaged? Welcome to the business model Humana is using. Either accept it, and your role and how it is, know it will be different in the future because the only constant at Humana is change, or start taking your steps to better your life and go, just stop all the bi-----g. After awhile, it gets old. How can you expect to help others, if you can’t even advocate for yourself? Stuck? Call the EAP. Unsure how to write up a resume? Look online. Find another job? Indeed.com. Just do something instead of imploding into a mass of toxic sludge. Please.

@rbcj+1fJ5vtRy….the poster apologized, why keep beating them up for it?

Original poster you can't be serious. You're sorry for berating people who feel safe coming here to express themself because there really is nowhere else to go where other people truly understand what you're talking about? I bet lots of the people here ARE looking for other jobs but they're wise enough to understand that they have to keep paying their bills somehow until they find it. And I don't think anyone took what you said wrong, it wasn't too hard to understand what you meant. It is hard to understand though that anyone would really think that ripping into people who were venting was going to reduce their stress.

I am the original poster, and I am sorry for how I came across. Below poster, thank you for your post…

I’m not a manager, nor have I been promoted. I’m glad to have a job in this economy, and I appreciate the benefits.

I don’t mean to make others more stressed, I was trying to express how to maybe stop the stress.

It came across wrong, and I am sorry it was taken wrong.

I thought the company mantra was that we should speak up. Of course we are not that stupid to know that doing so in meetings will get us labeled and riffed at the first opportunity. So to the Boss.... Look Boss, we're speaking up.

It's actually people like you who make the jobs stressful. Humana cherry picks people to promote, I know many people with senior titles that can borderline incompetent, I know many people that get title changes that are several steps above what they were and don't do anything more, finding an internal role is next to impossible for most people because the role was predetermined, there are 1000s of job openings yet the success rate of finding one is slim to none unless you know someone to pull strings, reorgs are non stop ..and the layoffs NEVER stop. Layoffs have been going on for years, they just don't talk about it.

So - this place is precisely where we should bi--h. It's literally dedicated to bi-----g. Let us bi--h. You're probably one that has been served up a career on a platter. Humana is a great place to work when it's a level playing field. I've been here 8 years and have only had 2 raises. Any significant pay bump Ive had was from making lateral moves so I could be adjusted to the market. The raises are non-existent for most employees. The ones that a motorboating mmanagements butts are the real winners.

I've seen employees go from a simple analyst to a manager within a year. And it had nothing to do with talent.

You're in the wrong room telling people not to bi--h. You're right; some people are terrible and deserve nothing good. However, I have seen even more people get walked on and thrown to the curb only to keep the worst talent.

It's healthy for employees to have somewhere to vent. Companies discourage this but it ok to notice when things are not right.
If this doesn't apply to you, keep it moving.
Technology is used to monitor and punish so why shouldn't it be used to unite?

You must really enjoy those Monday morning emails from BB. Heavy on the BS.

Perhaps you should take your own advice. Stop reading posts on The Layoff about Humana. Then you won’t have to “whine” about people who are concerned about their jobs and what’s happening at the company. You hold the key. Take your advice and just stop.

I don’t want to lose my job. So yes I come here to look at the rumor mill and sometimes I learn good stuff and some stuff is laughable. But I have the right to be here as much as any one else.

Not everyone hates their job and last I looked this is a free site open to all opinions not just the complainers who never say anything at work but have a lot to say like a cyber bully behind a keyboard.

I am wondering what this super self-motivated person, who loves Humana is doing on a layoffs site?

YES WE CAN LEAVE HUMANA, BUT THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT ANOTHER COMPANY WILL NOT BE LIKE HUMANA.

@kqq+1fJ5vtRy: this is a site for layoff information, but has turned into threads about anger at Humana for the tax rate for the AIP, or spreadsheet micromanaging…..that has nothing to do with a RIF. My opinion.

It’s a forum to discuss RIFs and layoffs, and has morphed into the expressions of feelings of discouragement of treatment. I think the poster was trying to speak up for those who aren’t as lucky, with the suggestion of empowering themselves and that there are options. Expressing is great, but wallowing and continued pain to yourself isn’t. I agree with the poster. Stop and do something different to feel better

This is a forum to discuss concerns of RIF and feelings of discouragement at the way Humana is now treating their talent. If you are lucky enough to be in a good situation there, maybe you should reach out and speak up for those who aren’t as lucky. Everyone is entitled to voice their own opinions based on their individual experiences. Encourage the expression of all feelings both positive and negative. That’s how real change happens.
