Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Did Humana started layoffs?

Did Humana started layoffs? I was put on PIP today despite better than last year performance. Do they offer severance pay, if they layoffs after pip?

There are some regions not getting work due to issues with software, not that there isn’t work, but the program isn’t working…I think those people in those situations are safe, since it’s a known computer programming problem

I would GUESS that your region is about to be laid off. When the work dries up the job dries up with Humana. If they adjusted something so you’re not getting members anymore that is never a good sign. I’ve been here many years I have seen this scenario over and over again. Look and see if you can move to a different area if you want to stay with Humana otherwise I would get ready. I have no official knowledge of layoffs coming. I’m not in management I’m just a worker bee.

I hate that some people are saying they are struggling. My region runs out of work each day and there are not enough calls. How can productivity be reached if there is no work.

This is interesting because I know someone in my area who is close to a PIP. This came out of nowhere. There are actually a couple of people in my area who received ridiculous feedback about their productivity. As if the manager was on a mission to find anything bad about any of the employees.

In my previous role I had direct reports. One of them moved to a different area and was subsequently placed on a PIP. If I am recalling my conversations with her I believe severance when you are on a PIP is one week per year of service instead of two. This occurred more than three years ago so the "rules" may have changed.

Sorry you are on a PIP but you must have had coaching leading up to that?? Being on a PIP puts you in danger during a rif. I am sorry

If you’re on a PIP, start doing your best now to meet and exceed expectations. That will help your changes of staying if leaders are looking toward a RIF. Low performers are the easiest to shed. But if you do become part of a RIF while you’re on a PIP, you should still qualify for severance. Go look at the severance policy in the ASC for more details.

Better start looking outside. Layoffs are happening every alternate quarter. As others mentioned management is trying to outsource maximum work for cost saving reasons.

What was the PIP for? They’re really cracking down on productivity.

Outsourcing is the way Humana will manage a lot of cost reduction.
