Thread regarding Follett layoffs

In times of crisis you expect a leader to lead

At Follett it is impossible to expect the leadership to lead, because that will never happen. Sometimes I think it's best not to care for this company at all. Still, I have been here for many years, I used to love working here and of course I can't help but be frustrated because there is no real leader here and as a result the situation can only get worse.

There appears to be nothing fundamentally different between the new executive leadership team and the 3-4 that preceded them. A lot of out of the gates talk but very little communication of substance since. For a group that spent almost a year working at HO, analyzing the business, they’ve done a poor job hitting the ground running. Maybe another survey will do the trick??

Hopefully, gone are the days when supervisors and managers would lock themselves up in a conference room all day and you can hear laughing from the walls. There was no supervision, and no sense of urgency. They basically put a do not disturb sign on the door and let the department sink. Would they take blame? Heck no. Out of sight out of mind. Rest in peace all you losers. Just a matter of time before the new company they all went to will see through the BS.

Ha! So he said he saw issues, and he will correct. Remember the RIP slide for SODA around 18 months ago.

God speed. Also, read Reddit. Your new CEO joined early cause he was let go for covering up a se-ual harassment case.

Watch out ladies, gentlemen, and maybe even the “non-bianary”

It's too early to say anything about the new leadership. It's only been one month. The new CEO did identify a lot of issues that need fixing in his latest communication. Many are issues that the previous leadership allowed to fester for many years. Now the question is: is this new group actually capable of fixing them and make those improvements? We'll just have to wait and see.

So does this mean that EK and RP are no better?

You mean that all those that said how it could get no worse were wrong?

You mean PE doesn’t operate like a family company and sink more money in without return year over year? And yes, for those that might fight this there was at minimum $600M plus of capital poured into Follett over the last few years, $60M of it was CRAPPOS.

Maybe it’s not the leaders, but the common denominator.

Don’t think to hard on that one. One good thing about this new leadership group, a lot less posts on here. Maybe they know how to find out who you are now :)
