Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

VSRP Senior Executives

3/31 you will see another group leaving the bank. This group consisted of higher level Senior Executives that took the package but because of their level of authority, had to stay in their positions until the end of the 1st quarter. Most of these are from the BB&T side, many worry what Rogers will do next. Sad, very sad.

Suntrust was even more technologically backwards than BB&T. They screwed their ET up so bad they were on the verge of outsourcing the rest of it when the MoE happened. They will run SunTruist into the ground the same way.

We also have a guy retiring (Tech department) highest position we have on our team, crazy knowledge, made him wait til the 31st. Manager leveled with us and said they don't plan to backfill his role or promote anyone to it basically a good luck we have to split the load oh and we can't hire ppl that we desperately need which means that backlog will continue to increase, consistently 2 weeks to a month behind of tech work getting done because they won't allow the managers to hire more ppl to keep up with the merger influx of requests. My manager wants to hire 4 of us from contract to perm immediately but Truist won't let him do anything ATM, maybe in April we'll here further details but it sounds like internally it's a cluster, the customers have the same experience, get it together or collapse on yourself Truist

I have to be honest, all the 3/31 group folks I know had their hands tied by old bankers.

Many operation, tech and product folks have the same date. Should be fun on 4/1. Happy fools day to those remaining.

@1dtq+1f7IYuVe is serious about this statement. This is what Kelly King unleashed upon you unsuspecting hBBT people. He can stand in church and pray every Sunday while you suffer from his malfeasance.

Give it up, hBBT folks...you allowed yourselves to become complacent and fell behind the tech curve, so now Darwin has finally arrived to cull you. hST folks were smarter and kept up with the times. That's really all there is to it. You couldn't compete. Good luck, you'll need it.

Senior executives are clueless and completely outdated in technology (if we talking about hBBT), truist aint gonna lose anything.

In fact this will create space for promoting internally people who will stand up to the MoE CD1 challenge and show leadership

Overall net positive. In order to attract retain and grow talen they gotta have opportunities to grow

There are also many technical experts in Enterprise Technology that are scheduled to leave March 31st. They are needed to handle any issues with the merger. This will leave quite a void!

Some in these positions were pushed out end of third quarter even if they weren’t eligible for early retirement. Most were replaced by promoted Suntrust people who had no comparable skills.

Heritage BB&T teammates are not surprised. The SunTrust takeover continues.
