I came across this. It’s Cisco HR in the UK
The email was provided using a data disclosure request.
It concerns an employee who had made a complaint against an exec. Some points to remember, Cisco claim to be ethical, zero tolerance to any form of discrimination, no revenge attacks.
Long email summarised by HR as follows.
“Not entering into the details once ( the employee) is back from LOA (leave of absence) the business want to LR ( limited restructuring), ( the employee) ( not sure this will not drive us to court with resignation refused. LOA promised and refused then accepted because of HR case against leader. And then termination. ???)
4 days prior to the above email and without employee knowledge the leader had emailed HR saying the employees emotional state was of concern and they should seek out counselling services provided by Cisco.
The employee was fine had an excellent track record and no disciplinary issue.
Cisco were asked to provide the reasoning behind the request to LR the employee. Even though Chuck Robbins has stated privacy is a basic human right and that Cisco state they are transparent with personal information. Cisco lied about having such data then after legal avenue time frames were exhausted stated the data existed but was protected by legal privilege. Why lie and then hide the information?
Judge for yourselves about Cisco and their HR team. I’m not a Cisco employee but once I saw the comments here and as entertaining as it is, there is a serious side. You can judge.
