Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Privacy concerns

You have no privacy when working for Fiserv with all their spying software installed on your work laptop. You can't even look for a doctor without them knowing. Looking for a specialist? They'll know what health concerns you have and your state of health.

While I can sympathize with a number of the critiques I see on this site, this is not one of them. A company's laptop is just that - the company's. It is a tool provided by them for you to do your job. A decent used smart phone is cheap and data plans aren't bad, either. In the past, I wouldn't give browsing a second thought, but, now, I wouldn't even use my employee's equipment to search for a car part. When they forced us to bring our own cell phone, I pulled out a ratty old one just for work. Total and complete separation.

Search for a REALLY expensive condition - then when you get laid off, you can claim that's why they're dumping you and have a nice little lawsuit.

Honestly, unless you're doing something real dirty, "laptop privacy" should be the lesser of your concerns. Do you like your job, the actual work? Do you have work/life balance? Have you discussed advancement opportunities with your manager? These are the things that matter more than the specialist you choose.

Right, so use your phone or your home PC. This is news? Be careful with that too, since tracking cookies are shared. Look for something on google, then you see an ad for something similar on FB a few hours later.
