They lack the confidence or the talent that you possess. All that is left is to go on anonymous websites and cry for those left behind.

What are you all doing? Show some self confidence and move on. You’ll put extraordinary effort into unionizing but won’t make an effort to update your LinkedIn profile and resume so you can go do something else?

There is so much available out there right now. I left a couple of years ago, am in a great role and have turned down two other pretty good jobs on the last two years.

Take control of your own situation. Or continue to be miserable.

Ask the Allstate employees if they would of preferred a union before over 4500 got laid off. The CEO Chicago woke dem sc-m was laughing all the way to the bank. Now the majority of Allstate employees live in Pune India……

Disrespect any subordinate within any level in any company always comes back to bite any leader in the rear. No the world and everything around us is not all about me and my greed. It is all about us. Start thinking that way at all levels and we will see production and quality triple twice the speed. Common sense always wins. It doesn't take a college degree or CPCU to figure it out.

More internet warrior talk that goes no where. Don’t believe it go back and read some of the earliest threads from years ago-talking about time for a union. How about ya’ll join the NBA or NFL instead-just as likely.

What the Union does is it cuts off the nards of management because they can't get away with their biased harassment anymore. The truth is you're only a bad employee and getting fired because you're boss doesn't like you, can't control you, so you have to go but with a Union that all stops because a Union rep would defend you and the frivolous stuff goes away under the crushing power of worker unity. Oh, snap, you just got old schooled!!!

Let’s face it things won’t get better at State Farm till something drastic happens to force them, like the workers joining a union and forcing better pay, no OT, or limited OT, and better working conditions. So the question becomes how can we start getting organized in our individual hubs to start the process of becoming a union?

SF brags about how much money they make then pay themselves more than their value and deny you fair wages, fair benefits...we have all the power. Can't hire people if the street to do this work. SF needs to get back to paying and treating enployees well. Otherwise, workers unite!

No, what the union does is negotiates your salary up to cover the cost of dues so SF ends up paying the dues and you get your entire pay!

Another good thing, no more EPRs and every gets the same pay adjustment.

One good thing about unions is that they will definitely stop your coworkers and management from conspiring behind your back. If you have a union, you will not be allowed to (what I call) backstab your fellow union member because if anyone does they can be called before the union executive board and fellow union members and possibly lose their union card. At SF they live off the back room chit chat that devastates careers. My wife belonged to a union and have seen this happen on several occasions. At SF your life and work is in the hands of very very few and your coworkers. With unions the paranoid feelings are greatly reduced and the politics are reduced.

The bad thing about the unions is the money you pay for representation reduces your return on investment income.

Individually, you have no voice. With a union the entire workforce has a voice.

Any talk against unions is from corporate lap dogs trying to discourage it. Unions aren't perfect but it's better than what we got now. Union now.

Complaining on here isn't going to solve anything. I once asked my uncle a union machinist in Detroit how many engine parts he could make in a day. He answered "well, I can make 12, but the union only tells me to make 8".

I honestly dont see how a union will help. What we dont get raises and whatnot and i go on strike? what then when i get back to a mountain of lawsuits and issues i have to deal with.....i just dont see what lever can be used to just be treated like a human a union will have on SF, especially if that service is paid for out my paycheck...

Just remember: Unions are not perfect for the worker. The union mobsters eventually get bought off by the management gangsters. Seen it happen. I called out a Teamster rep one time on it and cited him before the executive board. Just remember: They all didn't get rich by being honest and trustworthy.....especially the management of today.

Unions cost less to you then your pack of cigarettes. The amount of return claims employees will see from unionizing is tremendous.
There’s absolutely nothing bad that will come from unions. Only good.
My dad worked through a union his entire life and he was protected. He loved doing what he did until he retired.

@1nyl-thnak you for reinforcing the total ignorance around unions-you are the poster boy. You do not even understand the difference between public and private sector-a “buzz word” hilarious. Minions say the funniest things. Your comparison between police and adjusters is pathetic-which only makes sense considering the source.

In Cali the teamsters garbage union striked in December. Union cites “unfair labor practices, complaints about low wages, grueling 14-hour work shifts, the use of contingent labor as well as management harassment of workers that complain or present grievances." Strike lasted 7 days with union getting everything they wanted.

Imagine your TM or boss dislikes you and tries to fire you. Bam your union rep and his attorneys take over and shut it down. Union will enforce that benefits are applied equally to everyone. Mandatory OT, nope - not until the union approves it. Plus, union pension for those denied the benefit by SF. It's worth it. You have no power against them alone but together we have all the power. Oh, you don't agree to our terms...ok, week long strike starting Monday...whose going to process those claims? Meet those time limit demands???

Farmers were the ones that lost the case making claim reps timecard which basically forced entire industry to change. SF is going to be the one that causes unions ruining it for the industry...Losers.

It's against federal law for employers to threaten or impede employees from discussing and forming a union. Used to be we were treated as white collar professionals. Now treated like blue collar workers. As such, we'll unionize.

All day, every day my job is to resolve other people's problems. Literally doing the job insurance is intended, not risk management, not sales. And how does the company treat us? You know. Union now and take back control and power. SF wouldn't last a week if claim reps striked...treat us like garbage, you pay the price.

@1oqx Notice how you say "private sector" Nice buzz word. If unions are evil and have bad intent, why is it: A cop (who belongs to a union in the Bay Area) makes more money just starting than a SF adjuster does at max level and the adjuster requirements are a 4 year degree and a cop only needs a high school diploma? Yeah yeah...he puts his life on the line.....BFD. So! An adjuster has to deal with abuse day in and day out always dealing with negative rarely positive. Cops get more positive feedback. HINT HINT. Wink and nod! If they want a union, allow them to organize. They'll learn. Like SF everything is negotiable right?
