Anyone else hearing rumors about layoffs around March? Or that retail will be reducing its footprint and handing stores over to indirect retailers?

Yes it’s true. Before Verizon has to payout on stock awards. The bottom line retail is eventually going to convert all direct stores to indirect. Just like T-Mo. Maybe keep a few flagship stores. AT&T is doing the same thing. The Big 6 (The top indirect resellers) can run the stores at a fraction of the overhead. The key to stock prices going up is to cut jobs. The majority of Han’s compensation is in stocks. Since he is the CEO and Chairman of the board he has all the power. He was smart this time around. When he was at Ericsson he got canned because he was only the CEO. This time he made sure to protect himself. No matter how bad it gets we are stuck with him. I wonder how much it cost Verizon for Hans to be on the field at the Super Bowl and have a box? Money well spent!!!!!
Not true on the severance policy being only 6v and above. Look it up yourself before making lies and causing people to panic
Hmm, no severance? Sounds like they are getting ready to roll retail into the dirt and off the cliff.
As per updated policy, you probably better hope not, as the severance policy has been updated. The only positions now eligible for severance are 6V and above (General Managers and above). In the past store closures have give. Some the opportunity to apply to open positions with relocation or the option to severance in the amount of two weeks of salary per year of service. They have eliminated the severance option, as well as the relocation assistance, however they are still offering the ability to apply for open jobs
Layoffs?!…..you kiddin me??!!……LAYOFFS?!
Another day, another "are there layoffs coming" post.
Praying its true
I have been hearing that rumor since 2016. Will believe it when I see it. Seems like a logical move.
