Director, Senior Director, VP, GVP, AVP, SVP, EVP.
They make up titles just to please you. Don’t be flattered if you have a VP title, especially at NetSuite GBU

OCI Security is full of VPs from Microsoft that got kicked out
Oracle seems to be the repository for failed cloud people. I suspect the OCI people who came from Amazon also have no clue what they are doing. I thought for a while that OCI was the way forward, but there is so much online about the toxic atmosphere there, that it seems it is just as bad as the rest of oracle.
So... act and represent Oracle as a VP, but get paid as a Senior Director - such a deal!
Sounds like a way for Orahole to get more from someone, but not promote them.
I knew a Senior Director at Oracle who was given a discretionary title of VP so that it would allow him to meet with customer VPs; however, his actual job code was Senior Director. So... act and represent Oracle as a VP, but get paid as a Senior Director - such a deal!

I found that a lot of people at Oracle are the poser-types. They care ONLY about their title so they can tell people they are an architect or director or VP, etc. They have no idea how to do any real work.
I personally know 3 architects who were promoted to architect for taking credit for someone else's work. I will never look an someone with the title of architect the same way ever again.
The top levels of Oracle are all made up of posers. No idea how to do work, many of them got where they are by taking credit for someone else's work or sucking up to some corrupt manager who will promote just based on whether you say nice things to him/her. 80% of the directors/VPs and architects could be laid off tomorrow and absolutely nothing would happen to the company. These people are massively overpaid. Oracle could save a huge amount of money by doing that, but no, they lay off the little people instead, claiming it is helping their bottom line. Hey, LE, it's the little people who know what the developer issues and customer issues are. They are the ones you should be keeping. But no, we have to keep the royalty on-board while the ship goes down. The Oracle ship is massively top-heavy, I'm surprised it doesn't completely capsize.
O should let go it’s impotent directors and senior directors and become more of flat.
The other con is multiple “Director” titles and people. You know what happens when you have too many people “directing”? Nothing moves.
Unfortunately lots of tech companies do this.
Oracle is notorious for title inflation. People leaving Oracle and joining other firms are typically down-leveled by 1-2 levels in their new jobs.
I know one Group VP at Oracle who was downleveled to a director at Google Cloud. Just one example.
Netsuite is a nightmare! O went downhill fast after acquiring it.
