Addicted to the Work and Managers do nothing

We have an employee who never takes time off, works 10 to 12 hours and managers do nothing. What is wrong them.

The entire place is a sweat shop! They don’t offer anything that other employers don’t! Best time to leave, companies are paying good sign on bonuses!

Either employee is a workaholic or they give him a ton of work and he is afraid to say no. But if he loves his job, then good for him. Probably was raised in a different country. Nothing wrong with that.

Also depends on the job. When I was in accounting, I worked 12-16 hour days and weekends. Sometimes stayed overnight at the office and it was not by choice. My manager had to go on medical leave due to stress. Needless to say, I lasted less than a year.

This reminds me of a workaholic manager at Chase that worked 10-12 hrs a day, worked
on his vacation and kissed posterior and faithfully rooted for Chase. One day he was terminated (don't know why) and he was a bit devastated at first and came to his senses that "Chase does not give a Flying Hoot" about you. He learned the hard way and now detests the place.

Sounds like the employee is being used not helped. You may be right that the employee likes to work, or maybe emotional or phycological problems. Managers don't give a flying _unk about staff as long as goals are met, customers are satisfied and losses and complaints low. They shrug it off with, "Let them sleep here if they want, who cares as long as I get my bonus!" There are many who have found better jobs during the pandemic, but there are also many who are afraid to leave, or even look for a job.

That's the employees decision. He obviously enjoys working.
