Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Not trying to stop attrition.

I may have missed something, but it seems to me that they are not doing anything to stop the attrition? Sometimes I think that employees are more concerned than our leadership that people are leaving en masse or seriously intending to leave. I get the impression that they actually want as many people as possible to leave, although that doesn't make any sense to me. There is no logic to it because the departure of one employee and the extra load motivates yet another to leave. Who will remain here in a few years?

Or just tell every customer to give you anything higher than an 8 since the company has unfairly rigged a system to take money away from its front line workers. Whats the worst they can do? Fire you and you get a job making more at another carrier?

they don't stop top performers from leaving. Sure your direct boss might personally and selfishly try to convince you to stay. Mostly out of their own benefit because you pay their bonus also. They might ask you if there is anything they can do to help you stay, maybe like actually let you use your vacation time. However beyond that they aren't doing jack to keep "high performers" All the high performers got there by being smart enough to game the system and use their skills to make a nice check. Now that it's not possible to do so anymore they do as little amount of work as possible. High performers were incentive and motivated by money. Now that your check is based on carrying your team to only get wiped out at the end of the month by surveys no one cares. Look for other ways around the store to make money. ie indirectly ask customers for tips.

There are no high performers left you d-mb sh-t!! They all left when they gave us a $20,000 a year pay cut with team commission, and now the rest are leaving. We have had 3 open positions at my store for over a year, NOBODY is applying, we have 2 manager spots in our district, not one internal or external person has applied, 2 more managers just bailed, if we can't fill 2 managers spots how are we going to fill four?? This company is a laughing stock. Years ago it was hard to get your foot in the door at this company, now we can't get anyone to apply.

They do try to stop it for high performers. They just don't try to stop it for low performers who spins all day bi-----g on sites like this or brag about sabotaging sales (yet somehow think they are the victim).

@raq+1ewURTVz How is it cheaper ? Most of the new hires coming are making the same as the lowest paid reps in the store. The only employees they want to leave are the ones constantly complaining about changes that were made nearly two years ago. No doubt 2023 will be the biggest year for turnover. Most have waited for something that will never come albeit some type of severance, lay-off or actual positive change at work. The job is a shhhh show now. There are some that continue to stick it out though. One coworker who makes an average of 15k less a year the past two years said he loves the job because of the 401k plan. You just can’t make this stuff up.

DING DING DING!!! They want you to leave, it's way cheaper if you just quit they are counting on this fact. Not worth it once you factor in all the metrics and loss of freedom of life just standing in an empty store.

Why would they care about retaining employees? Same people that came up with one team and cut everyone's pay and also put us on this survey bullshrimp

They have done nothing for employee retention. I find it very odd since they still have a business to run. When stores close early or dont even open for the day this should be a red flag they need to do something.
