Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Fiserv to offer 2 weeks severance for the FIRED non-vaxed

Anyone not vaxed after Jan 4th will be fired and offered two weeks severance. DON'T ACCEPT IT!! HE-L NAH!!! It will disqualify you from the class-action lawsuit that will be filed in the years to come.

To all you losers who support tyranny - eat chit. Good luck with the upcoming layoffs and slow demise of fiserv....

To the "woke" HR Dept - eat double chit!

SCOTUS is not determining if companies have the right to enforce mandates. Only if Biden can force federal contractors and employees. Nice try though.

They shouldn’t even get severance. Just cut them loose and good riddance.

Just read this entire thread.... Wow... Lots of opinions and misinformation. At the end of the day, the judgement from the SCOTUS will determine if people can sue or not. Regardless, this country was founded upon the principles of freedom and liberty and the government forcing vaccination on everyone DIRECTLY goes against that grain.

Not sure where your rights to not get covid trump my rights to not get vaccinated. If YOU are afraid then YOU stay home!

Please decline the two weeks severance and save Fiserv the money. The federal government, under direction of the Biden administration, has extended protections to corporations like ours that prevent any such lawsuit or class action. I'm not debating the merits of the vaccines, but your government has limited your rights to sue your employer, health care provider, insurer and dr-g maker for anything related to covid. Do your research or ask an attorney.

To the previous poster. You need to clarify your data a little. 57 US citizens have been diagnosed with thrombosis, 36 were admitted to ICUs, and nine died after taking the J&J vaccine. As you noted, these are similar numbers to many other dr-gs and the flu vaccine.

The recommendation to use the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines in recognition they are lower risk.

And yes. 800,000 Americans have died from Covid. And 90%+ of those dying now are unvaccinated.

No vaccine, no medical procedure, no dr-gs, has 0% risk. The article provided by the previous poster left out some important facts from the article

  • J&J's vaccine was with a different technology - adenovirus vs mRNA for Pfizer and Moderna
  • 1 out of 100,000 J&J takers had a serious side effect. 15% of folks died, or 1 in 600,000 (about 52 total). This is approximately the same risk factor as the flu vaccines and many other prescription dr-gs.
  • There is a recommendation to still get vaccinated using Moderna and Pfizer

Lets be clear. Approximately 800,000 Americans have died from the virus thus far, but approximately 92% of those dying now are unvaccinated. So if another 800,000 die, 700,000 will be unnecessary.

You can go back to 1920 and avoid modern prescriptions, vaccines, chemotherapy, and surgeries.

But your employer does not have to accept the additional cost of your unnecessary ICU stays and the risk to your co-workers of you not being vaccinated.

I have read many of these posts. It seems simple. Americans can choose to have the vaccine or not. Not getting the vaccine satisfies personal needs but raises the health risk to fellow employees, especially when coupled with an anti mask stance. An unvaccinated person is about 12 times more likely to run up a $250,000+ ICU stay which is paid for by an employer.

Because unions have been largely dismantled and no organized voice can speak for most employee groups or get these employee groups negotiated workplace rights, and because legislation has been passed in most states to allow corporations to hire and fire at will, employers can choose to employ the unvaccinated or not.

Is it really more complex than that? There will be no successful class action lawsuit. Aceept the consequences of your decision. And take the money if you are smart.

Legally (though IANAL), accepting the severance package will make you ineligible for any direct lawsuits later on, but you may still be eligible for any class-action lawsuits.

All said, I bet they make you sign something stating that accepting that money means you won't sue them later on, in which case refuse it unless your finances are in need of it.

Either way, not that the CDC has said to not take the J&J shot due to possible cardiovascular side effects? It won't be long until the rest come under similar scrutiny, and companies start getting sued into oblivion by people whose hearts, brains, and lungs are damaged because some HR drone demanded they take the clot shots...

Unions have been basically eliminated from the American landscape. Thus there are no rights negotiated on behalf of employees anymore.

The vast majority of states have passed "at will" legislation allowing corporations to hire and fire at will for no cause.

Put these two things together and there will be no class action lawsuit. Take the money and find a different job.

You are not required to be vaccinated. You are required to accept the consequences of your decisions.

I'm already gone and double dipping. I was hoping to get swept up in a RIF, but another automatic two weeks of pay? With no effort on my part but having a pulse?

Lol. I'll take it.

I'm tired of punching made-up numbers into Clarity every week anyway.

This whole place is lame. Adios.
