There is no logic to the way things are done anymore. Instead of making decisions based on market research and in-depth analysis, everything we do is based on the opinion of whoever is the most important senior person in the room when decisions are being made. That is a recipe for disaster, not success.

Not sure how long you've been with Nike, but that's they way it's been for the last 15 years. Decisions based upon opinion rather than facts.
I think part of it is due to lack of training and hands on experience. When Nike puts an MBA candidate directly in a Sr. Manager or Director role without experience, all they can do is manage based upon opinion and feelings.
Yes and if you do the proper research and advise in a direction your second hand car salesperson manager already sold to his leaders to make himself look good you get all the sh-t.
