I was bored so decided to go take a closer look at the compensation changes. I find it interesting that going forward you will only be able to see the pay range for your current position as opposed to how it always has been with MRP salaries.
I will be interested to see what job postings look like once the change is in place - it's possible I am misunderstanding the policy/FAQ - it says Managers will be able to see the base pay for all of their employees. Employees will be able to view the base pay aligned with their job profile only.
I'd hope the ranges would be published and available on TeamWorks but the way things have been going around here... who knows!

All US empire job listings, postings, ads, etc. should transparently indicate what the salary range is (minus any "benefits")--just the salary range. "Competitive" compensation is meaningless and more typical American obfuscation.
Strange that I'm not qualified on paper to have the job that I've held for the past 5 years.
But I'm the go-to person for what I do.

I read/heard somewhere that pay ranges won't be published until January.
Job postings should still display the pay range.
As for the job family there will be a job family tool. It's nice in that it tells you exactly what competencies are needed for a given role. But looking at pay, I can only see if it's hourly or salary. I can find a compensation code, but no definition of what that pay range actually is. So if that holds true for the go live version, we won't be able to see a pay range unless the job is currently accepting applicants.

Ya.. I think you misunderstood. In the main compensation section it says they'll show base pay ranges rather than MRP.
You were looking under the section for when you'll be able to see base pay ranges for the new catalog.
I agree though - it's kinda confusing.
