Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

How much more do you work from home?

Contrary to what some claim, it is absolutely not true that employees are reluctant to return to the office because at home they worked a lot less.

Nonsense!

I have no reason to lie on an anonymous forum, but I will say that the only reason I would like RTO is that I will finally work 8 hours, and not 10, 11 or 12 hours a day as I have done from home.

I work 8-4 at home. Get done more in 3 days from home than I would in 3 weeks from whq. Did I mention saving more than 10hours a week of my life not having to deal with that tunnel.
Not looking forward to going back. I work less at home and have exponential output. Going to be magical experience at whq, everyone at there desk on zoom....

Thanks for posting this OP. You have confirmed what I wrote in a post yesterday. Since the pandemic began the average work from home employee is putting in substantially more work hours than they did prior to the pandemic. This is resulting in burnout at unprecedented rates. That’s not just my opinion. “The Great Resignation” is primarily driven by burnout and people seeking other jobs that offer better work/life balance. Nike is well aware of this and that’s one of the reasons they’re aiming to get everyone back in the office in January. Returning to the office will require an adjustment period but it won’t be as painful as some people seem to think.

Some us are priced out of the Beaverton and Hillsboro area. Communiting to that area in 2 hours of traffic each day plus added stress, wear and tear is not sustainable.

Before you say " tough shiittttt" understand many of us are being paid well below the market average with inflation to live here. But lets pretend everything is going back pre-plandemic....

Yea, I feel you. It doesn’t really matter to me. I wouldn’t complain if Jan 10th is still the RTO date. Well maybe because I’m in chicago and not Beaverton.

But I do understand the frustration from people who sit in Beaverton/WHQ. Maybe WD+C has some new workplace experiences in every office…lol idk tho, I’m not for of against it
