Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Who will train new hires?

I think the new hires get more than disappointed, right after they come here.
People who have knowledge and skills are leaving and I wonder who will train new hires after they all leave?
Fiserv is a complete mess and the level of disorganization in this company is shocking.

Q: "Who will train new hires?"

A: "Who cares?"

I am not going to put in any effort to cross-train anyone. Frank's a clown and I am not moving to NJ to satisfy his bizarre whims.

I spent a two weeks cross-training folks on my team. As others have said, my quarrel was not with them. Other than being saddled with extra work, which I couldn't help, I did whatever I could to pass along my knowledge. I also gave some of them my phone number and email and told them to give me a call if they had a question. They are good, hard-working people and I wish them the best.

Now, that said, no amount of knowledge transfer will cover all the nuances of a position. Some stuff you just know because you've been doing the work for years (or even developed the processes yourself).

Of course, there are other pieces for which there is no training. I had forged a lot of relationships/connections with different BUs. I knew their personalities and they knew mine. That was of immense benefit while working on projects. They will need to create their own relationships.

Out of respect for the team I’m leaving behind, I documented my stuff and recorded the process from A to Z. If my replacement is smart and can follow along, they will be fine. Heck, it’s not my teams fault I was cut so I’m doing everything possible to not make them feel any worse than they already feel. I’ll miss my team and coworkers, not the management team that’s destroying our amazing company from the inside out.

New hires are already asking for raises and bonuses. They have no idea what they are in for.

Why are you so concerned? Finish out your service and know that Fiserv's failure to plan appropriately for higher than expected attrition rates is not YOUR problem. Go Christmas shopping!

Frank has relentlessly gutted Fiserv, and will continue to do so throughout the rest of his tenure. We can only hope that he is disbarred from the financial industry, and then swiftly arrested and tossed into jail for disrupting so many lives for no good reason.
