Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Will Walmart enforce the vaccine mandate?

Well, it’s roughly 4 weeks until the vaccine deadline hits. If you don’t remember, this is what happened:

  1. The newly released rules, issued by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration under the Labor Department, apply to businesses with 100 or more employees.
  1. Businesses have until Jan. 4 to make sure their workers have received the shots necessary to be fully vaccinated.
  1. All unvaccinated workers must begin wearing masks by Dec. 5 and provide a negative Covid test on a weekly basis after the January deadline, according to the requirements.

What will Walmart do? Are they going to fire potentially hundreds of thousands of associates for not getting the shots?

I guess we’ll see if the ba--s in Bentonville are bigger than the ones in Washington.

I believe everyone in a leadership position at Walmart hopes the mandate will be halted via a court decision. However, I also believe there’s going to be significant pressure for large employers to comply. I don’t this this is over by a long shot.

The Republicans in the senate just protected your right to choose from Comrade Biden. You would be smart to get the vaccine, but that will not be Biden's decision. Of course Walmart, as a private employer, has every right to mandate vaccinations for their employees. That would be a stupid decision, because many would choose to leave rather than get the vaccination and it's already hard enough to find and retain decent people.

Unfortunately for us, this company is as attracted to stupid decisions as a moth is to a burning flame.

I see it as D.O.A.

The courts are busy with this one, but there’s no ruling that strikes it down for private companies with over 100 employees. Yet.

Didn’t NYC put in a similar mandate recently?

Courts across the nation have demanded that enforcement of the psychotic poopy pants protocol is halted until further judicial review. It will either go to the Supreme Court or he will drop the mandate himself.
