I did a recruiter screening call for an external position. Recruiter asks why I want t leave and I bring up this situation as one of many reasons why I want to leave.
The recruiter was blown away. "You were hired remote and they cancelled your telework agreement?" Yep, pretty great isn't it. She went on to say if you're hired remote, you're staying remote.
I was also 100% remote before Covid and now I’m not. That does not help morale at all. Just another cluster caused by our leadership.
Saw a position in a different part of my state that I would normally apply for, if the location wasn't a gamble. They want the best candidate, in that location, for the job. Not the best candidate, period.
That's going to work out well.
WF can just do what they did to me: hire as 100% remote, and then tear up that agreement a while later.
Not just to me, either. They did it to thousands of us.
I don't even know why companies are still holding onto the dream of things going back to the way of before. We've had candidates tell us to take a hike after we say we can't guarantee the position will stay remote. It's burning out the people still here.
I was looking around the new jobs website on workday. There are some current postings for my new title so I was able to see my new salary range from the job posting since they don't show it to you... Currently we are guaranteed as permanent remote I would probably post for another job if it weren't for having to go back into an office
Employers are already starting to pivot.
I saw 2 WF postings recently with the 100% remote option listed along with the locations.
Of course, there were only 2 of these remote options among the 350 other postings.
