Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

There's no one out here

Usually the views go up when layoffs are coming. So, seems no rumors circulating. No layoffs coming up.

Did enough people really leave this last year that no layoffs were needed? What are the estimates of how many people left? How many employees currently at Oracle?

You assume that his management can appreciate his talents! Not likely given similar observations!

I think he is too important and good at what he does to get fired.

Maybe Ax Man can give a layoff update.

He sure has been quiet over the past year or two.

Oracle is playing with numbers only.

Oracle is paying the price in this job market for many many years of abusing its employees with little to no raises, no bonuses, etc.

You reap what you sow.

Oracle’s only hope for more growth in the future is more acquisitions.

The number of employees is spiking. Perhaps it will just be the new folks from acquisitions, but this will not go on.

Everyone's leaving at Oracle, what layoff are you talking about? In OCI morales are literally ZERO thanks to selfish and greedy mgmt that have no idea how to run a tech company. The ones left are either Indians who are on H1B visas (their leaving slowly, tho), or the ones having no skills to find a job outside. Going forward all they have will be data centers no one uses.

Don’t be so sure about an absence of layoffs.

My team and dept in the CEGBU lost 50%. All moved on to better companies. The people who are still there are there for two reasons. One, they’re interviewing with other companies and just waiting on an offer. Two, their habits and skills set and pay are so out of date, they aren’t used in real tech. The mgmt in some of these gbu’s wouldn’t get hired as Walmart greeters and they know it. Complete frauds. I could name them but they’re worthless terds.

It helps to think Oracle's remaining employees (at least in the tech org - the apps org is still relatively healthy) as the dregs of the tech industry. Once you learn to do that, questions like yours all become moot.

The old number was just the end of the beginning. This year will be the beginning of the end!

Oracle’s expectations are high, but returns are slim and far between. Inflation will underline the problem
