Rumors are circulating about upcoming layoffs and I hope to be the target. Don’t get me wrong, I feel sorry for those who want to stay here, but I want layoff and severance pay. I wouldn’t miss severance for just any job offer because I’ve worked here for a long time. On the other hand, I can't stay here much longer. I hope for good timing.

Verizon has been a real dumpster fire for the past several years. Get out ASAP, nothing good is coming out of the current “leadership” team.

After 20+ years, I was in a similar situation and waited around a few years hoping and praying for a package. I was just too productive to ever get laid off, I even put my name in for the Volunteer Separation Package and was turned down. I ended up leaving without a package. I couldn’t stand CRT Social Justice Warrior Leftist Political Indoctrination another day. I’m much wealthier, healthier and happier where I am now and totally free from lefty political indoctrination.
I flat out said to HRBP why am I still here? Clearly my mgr thinks I’m incompetent. RiF me. I good. I’m lazy tho kick my a$$ OUT.

Not sure there will be an offer of severance. Just waiting for the "Stock Together" payout and I'm gone.
I'll quit when I'm finished school. Until then this sad joke pathetic excuse for a company can pay me chump change to clerk out phones or a severance would be even better. I cannot wait to leave.
Still baffles me that people would wait year in and year out to leave because they are waiting for a package. People hate it here but willing to wait. If you are qualified to do anything else but retail, you can go out and get another job that is worth more than the package. Instead, people choose to wait and be miserable. I know people from B2B, Architects, Engineers, Ops that have left and gotten 20-30k increases. Time is something that is irreplaceable. Simpleton calculations.

Same here. I think we're in a good position to apply externally and aim high. Worst case is we are still here. With that said, probably set a time line you're comfortable with to make the leap. That's really best I can tell you. I'm not interested in another holiday season.
