We don’t hear much from you on this site. I would genuinely like to hear what it’s been like for you working during the pandemic and if the pay/career growth/leadership complaints of corporate employees resonates with you

It's been all over the place really, a lot of people taking advantage of CSL pay... stores remaining open when almost half the store is infected..no contact tracing being done. Also, the fact that I got a $.23 raise as a coach (who's been with the company almost 11 years) when seasonal athletes and many others got almost a $5 raise.. that didn't really sit well with me.
Nike's retail employees are largely just a way for them to gerryrig the D&I numbers. Nike is all about image, not reality of the workplace.
Honestly, it’s been trash working at retail pre-pandemic but it got a whole lot worse when we came back. Some managers not believing in COVID reflected on how much they care about the safety of their employees in the store. Letting in more people than what the state mandated was very common. Letting people work when they were clearly exposed. Not giving us a pay raise last year. Taking away our quarterly bonus. We do not get paid enough for the amount of work that is put on us.
I started in retail but I moved to whq prior to the pandemic - my biggest shock was learning how disorganized everything was. Stores are political so that was the same, promos based off personality not actual work competency. Pay is actually worse at whq (I’m serious you can make more working in stores) so I started looking last quarter and just got an offer that’s basically doubling my pay (I’m in planning now). The one thing that’s really different in stores is that it’s easier to drink the koolaid, we’re all brainwashed but then come to corporate and realize the culture is totally different (some take longer than others), it’s just a corporation that doesn’t care about you and everything they’ve said about empowering athletes/caring about D&I is a lie. Oh well - onto bigger and better things!
