The last two quarters have provided ample evidence of that. The dreamers set the goals so high you have no chance, but they are willing to pay you $5,000 to bring a friend into this mess.
All I can say is ‘make him pay’ for it.

Engineers are, or used to be, motivated by bonuses
No bonuses at Oracle then implies that engineers there are not motivated.
That is exactly right. Those close to retirement are just hanging out for that, others are tired of dealing with all the cr-p and avoid getting involved in anything they don't have to absolutely do. They are tired of being screwed over.
That's right LE, your engineers are not interested in helping Oracle succeed. It's a sh---y place and you, LE, are the most to blame for that.
Engineers are, or used to be, motivated by bonuses.
Bonuses are not a commonly used tool at Oracle. RSUs are given to the top 20% of performers to entice them to stay for 4 years. Everyone else intentionally gets zero to motivate you to try harder.
Su---r. You should really read the small print on the annual compensation agreement. Bottom line targets do not matter. All the percentages don’t matter. It is totally at their discretion. It’s been the “KB-Era” since they stuck to their comp plan agreements. Take your crumbs or get out.
Welcome to the Borg Hive.
Try not to get too worked up about bonuses. What is far more important is that we are all part of the Oracle collective.
Bonus?
What is that?
