For those who have been promoted within past annual cycles, what is your experience in base compensation increase?
This excludes those promoted out of the annual cycle.

Yeah it actually does. Work harder than your teammates, provide leadership and elevate their work, make life easier on your management not more difficult, provide solutions not problems. Do this consistently for a few years and yes you might get a promotion. Document your accomplishments and write yourself a stellar review both at midpoint and year end. If you don’t get promoted in place, you should have enough documentation and confidence to apply for a higher level position elsewhere (either internally or externally).
I know of 7 people last year that received in place promotions.
Wfc has promotions?? Never heard of that unless you are a chase employee or son in law of diamon.
Once I got a 1% raise (not bonus eligible) and the other time I got transferred to another team/role during a restructuring event and they mapped me to a title that was lower than what was comparable to my original title and I was told it was so they “could promote me faster”. I got a 3% raise when the time came.
Have experienced or directly heard anywhere from 6% to 22% over the last 4 cycles. Can be very different role by role or group by group.
Would the promotion raise be different than the regular raise?
exceeds = 3%, promotion = 10%?
Ase4 to 5 was a bump in bonus from 7.5% to 10%. Then all ASE4 and ASE5 got lumped into ‘Software Engineer” with the same 10% target :/
For the person promoted without a salary increase, it is possible their bonus target increased, meaning they'd get a larger bonus overall, then targets were removed and backdated by our wonderful company so... poor them.
I went from ASE4 to ASE6 with regular pay increase below 3%

What is this “promo” word of which you speak?
That happened to me. Went from ASE4 to ASE5, bit no increase in pay other than the standard year end comp review.
I know of someone who was promoted and received a 0% salary increase. I sh-t you not.
I received 7.7% last year. I believe that this year promotions are having to be funded with the regular 3% raise pool that managers get so they will be few and far between.
I received 10% last year for a promotion.
