Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

ETS OSHA REQUIREMENT VACCINE STATUS

OSHA ETS clearly states the vaccine mandate does NOT apply to employees under covered employers that do not report to an office with coworkers or customers or employees while working at home or that work exclusively outside. Why in the world would the permanent remote workers have to complete this survey by January 10 or, as our manager says, consider it a violation of the Code of Conduct? Anyone? Do they just want this information for their own personal gain? Are they going to require unvaccinated fully remote workers to test weekly when they are not even working in the office? This does not make any sense at all.

Need to follow Canada’s lead and raise federal income tax on those not vaccinated-a lot.

Anyone that thinks vac status is confidential despite what they write is clearly not a good researcher and critical thinker nor understands systems or privacy or networks of data. Don't believe everything you read or trust words.

@5sun-another example of the simpletons that post on this site. It is clearly written in part IV Feasibility, section II “Determining Employee Vaccination Status.” My reading skills were good enough to obtain a law degree and to pass the Bar exam in IL. After you read that section please provide all of us your expert opinion. We will await your response.

@4lra+1eG9YJoZ the ETS does not say ANYWHERE that employers are required to survey remote workers. Obviously YOU cannot read. Stop making up stories.

@4ihe-because you are too lazy, or incapable of reading the actual mandate here is the pertinent quote word for word “ the vaccination testing and face mask requirements under ETS do not apply to remote workers. But the requirement to record the vaccination status of all employees applies to remote workers.” It goes on further to state ‘“ vaccination status is a confidential medical record and should be treated as such with proper protections.” Do some research and don’t rely on this site for your information.

@4ymd+1eG9YJoZ provide an example where it says employees are required to survey the vax status of WFH. Don't spread false information on this site. Sure, the WFH employees counts as for as number of employees for a business with 100+ workers for a business, but since the ETS does not apply to them they should not have to fill out the survey.

Wrong. This is what happens when you don’t actually do any research. If you read the federal mandate while it specifically excludes remote workers for vaccine/testing it also specifically requires employers to determine the vaccine status of remote workers. SF has no choice nor do others with 100 or more employees. Reading all the conspiracy comments is comical at one level but shows how uninformed and naive people are at another level.

If OSHA states plainly the mandate does not apply to remote or work at home workers who do not interact with other employees or come into the office, then I don't think if this applies to you, it is no one's business if you are vaccinated or unvaccinated. SF plainly linked to this.

The Supreme Court is not going to block the mandate. Vaccine mandates are not new and they are legal. I know republicans don’t like to research and listen to old tucker carlson but facts are facts.

State Farm is on point about sending out a survey to obtain ALL employees vaccination status and could not even do the practical thing of at least waiting because we all know the Supreme Court is going to block the mandate. They need EVERYONE's data, even the permanent WFH people that they cannot do weekly tests on anyway if unvaxxed. What for? So they can store this information for future gain, compare notes with the President? So they can shame the unvaxxed? Heck, I would not be suprised if they sold it at a huge profit. Baaaa

@2vos-according to an informal comment made by a couple of executives on a call they said they would prefer to keep the previous OC people over hub employees because of their expertise/productivity and low turnover versus hub employees that turn over daily….

Just to throw that out there they may not keep all the employees who are working remote. and that is why they may need your status. And by that I mean like those who were in an operations centers that closed down. They never really did confirm what their final plans for those who worked in the OC were going to be, just work remote... for now.

Because you are SF, does not mean you are entitled all of my information. When they have access to all of our information we are no longer a republic. This is a fine example of what the "real" socialists" are pushing to destroy our nation.

@1uvk-this does not violate HIPPA! HIPPA only applies to medical providers. SF does have a responsibility, totally separate and unrelated to HIPPA to secure confidential employee information-SS#, personal address, medical information, etc. But even that can be provided to others, think law enforcement, under certain circumstances. Any institution can inquire or require your medical information including vaccine status. Your choice to comply or not.

What is the purpose of collecting this data. Clearly this violates HIPPA.

You actually do not HAVE to respond. If you do not respond, they will just treat you as unvaccinated and either way, that is not supposed to be shared with your leadership.

Welcome to the sh*t show they have in DC. OK for me but not for thee. Shut up and do as your told. SF may be the #1 carrier like we are the #1 country, but with the leadership we have now, it's all going down the toilet. Look at your 401K today, look at the jobs report the past year. Keep your powder dry.
